With over 30 years experience C&R have the knowledge, technical expertise, specialist tools and bespoke computer diagnostic equipment to cater for all requirements.  With one of the two business partners Steve Cresswell leading the workshop team you know your car is in good hands.  Steve has been servicing, repairing and performance modifying VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda cars for over 30 years.  For well over 12 years he was performing the role of technical expert and automobile agony aunt for the national publication Golf + magazine and he is also the most prolific message poster on the VW Audi forum where he helps individuals and other garages with VAG related technical issues.

Experienced Technicians Working On Your Car

At some garages the smaller cars or the less rewarding work gets passed on to the trainees or less experienced technicians. At C&R whether you own a Fabia, an Ibiza, a Golf Mk2 or an Audi TT your car will be assessed and worked on by one of our VAG specific technicians.

Specialist VAG Technicians at General Garage Rates

C&R currently charge from £37.50 plus VAT for a vehicle computer diagnostic scan complete with a  printed report.  We also have access to the VAG diagnostic software which may be required to diagnose certain issues and this is charged on a time based system. Labour is charged out at £55 per hour plus VAT for all servicing, repair work and modifications.  We believe that these rates are similar to the rates charged by the average general garage in the midlands and significantly less expensive than some other specialists and the dealer network.

A combination of our specialist knowledge, attention to detail and competitive labour rates continue to entice customers to visit us from as far a field as the South of England, Wales, Scotland and even the Republic of Ireland!  Many of these own older VWs such as the Golf Mk1 GTi, Sciroccos, Golf Mk2 GTi, 16 Valves and the Golf G60.  They struggle to find experts in their own locality and in many cases the people who did understand these older cars have now retired. 

Quality Parts Fitted At Competitive Prices

In addition to the large range of performance parts listed on this website C&R also supply a range of replacement parts from various sources including genuine VW Audi group parts, specialist German manufacturers and even sources as far a field as the USA.  The main criteria is to obtain high quality parts at competitive prices.  However, if the quality of an alternative part is questionable we will always suggest that a Genuine VAG part be used.
